Lead Data Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Lead Data Engineer to join our growing team in London, ON. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, building, and maintaining our data infrastructure, enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization. You will lead a team of talented engineers, mentor junior members, and drive innovation in our data solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and infrastructure.
• Develop and implement data models and database solutions.
• Optimize data processing and storage for performance and cost-efficiency.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and other engineers to understand data needs.
• Ensure data quality, integrity, and security.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team growth.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging data technologies and best practices.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in data engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience designing and implementing large-scale data pipelines.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Scala, Java).
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Expertise in big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop, Kafka).
• Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and tools (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery).
• Experience with data modeling and database design.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.

Education

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
