About the Role
Indeed Hiring Lab acts as our public-facing research arm, delving into labor market trends on a global scale. As a Lead Data Scientist, you'll utilize Indeed's unique data on job postings, resumes, applications, and outcomes to derive insights about labor market conditions. This collaborative position will involve working alongside engineers, economists, editors, and product managers to transform data into meaningful metrics, models, visualizations, and analyses for external dissemination.
Your responsibilities will include preparing datasets, creating innovative data products, validating metrics, maintaining data quality, and deploying software libraries to facilitate reproducible analyses. You'll also have the opportunity to investigate and utilize new techniques from open-source software and research to creatively solve business challenges.
Your Key Responsibilities • Design and implement impactful data products from concept to execution. • Create software libraries to enable consistent data analysis. • Work collaboratively with various teams across the organization on data analysis and product development. • Participate in code reviews and contribute to process enhancements for team members. • Document and clearly communicate your work to stakeholders. • Integrate technical solutions with product strategy for effective results. • Demonstrate accountability for team priorities and our commitment to helping people gain employment.
Ideal Candidate Profile • At least 5 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree. • A minimum of 3 years in a practical role as a Data Scientist, Economist, or Statistician. • Proven track record of implementing analytical solutions in large-scale settings. • Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP. • Proficient in R/Python and SQL programming.
Compensation
The salary range for this role is as follows: Austin, Metro Area $122,000 - $178,000; US Remote $122,000 - $178,000; New York City, Metro Area $146,000 - $212,000; Seattle, Metro Area $134,000 - $194,000; San Francisco, Metro Area $155,000 - $225,000; Scottsdale Metro Area $115,000 - $169,000. Actual compensation will be based on the applicant's skills and experience.
