Lead Data Scientist

About the Role

• Our client is seeking a highly experienced and visionary Lead Data Scientist to spearhead their data analytics initiatives in Regina, Saskatchewan, CA .
• This senior role will involve leading a team of data scientists and analysts, driving the development and implementation of advanced analytical models and machine learning solutions to extract actionable insights from large datasets.
• You will be responsible for defining the data science strategy, identifying business opportunities that can be addressed through data-driven approaches, and mentoring junior team members.

Key Responsibilities

• Key responsibilities include designing, developing, and deploying complex predictive models, algorithms, and statistical analyses.
• You will work with diverse data sources, including structured and unstructured data, and employ techniques such as machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, and statistical modeling.
• Collaborating closely with business stakeholders across various departments to understand their challenges and translate them into data science problems is crucial.
• You will also be responsible for data visualization, storytelling with data, and communicating complex findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ensuring the quality, integrity, and scalability of data science solutions, as well as staying abreast of the latest advancements in data science and artificial intelligence, are essential.

Requirements

• The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in statistics, mathematics, computer science, and machine learning.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, and experience with big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) are required.
• A Master's or Ph.D. in a quantitative field, coupled with at least 5 years of experience in data science, with a proven track record of leading projects and teams, is essential.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills are mandatory for this role.
