About the role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced and visionary Lead Data Scientist to spearhead their data analytics initiatives in Regina, Saskatchewan, CA . This senior role will involve leading a team of data scientists and analysts, driving the development and implementation of advanced analytical models and machine learning solutions to extract actionable insights from large datasets. You will be responsible for defining the data science strategy, identifying business opportunities that can be addressed through data-driven approaches, and mentoring junior team members.
Key responsibilities include designing, developing, and deploying complex predictive models, algorithms, and statistical analyses. You will work with diverse data sources, including structured and unstructured data, and employ techniques such as machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, and statistical modeling. Collaborating closely with business stakeholders across various departments to understand their challenges and translate them into data science problems is crucial. You will also be responsible for data visualization, storytelling with data, and communicating complex findings to both technical and non-technical audiences. Ensuring the quality, integrity, and scalability of data science solutions, as well as staying abreast of the latest advancements in data science and artificial intelligence, are essential. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in statistics, mathematics, computer science, and machine learning. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, and experience with big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) are required. A Master's or Ph.D. in a quantitative field, coupled with at least 5 years of experience in data science, with a proven track record of leading projects and teams, is essential. Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills are mandatory for this role.
