Position Summary
We are hiring a Lead Designer to develop Christmas & Seasonal product collections across multiple consumer product categories. This role will manage the day-to-day creative design development from concept through production.
Our ideal candidate has experience building seasonal assortments for Mass Market/Specialty retail, understands how to translate trends into commercially viable products, and can manage multiple categories and timelines simultaneously. Experience in licensed and private branded products is required.
Responsibilities
Design & Creative Development
- Develop seasonal product collections across a wide range of product categories.
- Create original concepts, artwork, packaging, and product direction for holiday programs.
- Build cohesive assortments that support retail strategies and brand positioning.
- Translate trend research into clear product opportunities.
Product Categories
- Home décor – ornaments, garlands, etc.
- Plush & Novelty
- Small soft and hard goods – hydration, accessories, stationery, etc.
- Collectibles
- Outdoor seasonal décor
Trend & Market Research
- Research trends in holiday décor, gifting, color, lifestyle, and retail.
- Analyze market opportunities and competitive assortments.
- Develop trend presentations, mood boards, and seasonal direction.
- Identify opportunities for new product categories and seasonal programs.
Product Development
- Collaborate with Creative Director on product line design and development.
- Prepare design specifications and production-ready files.
- Review samples and prototypes to maintain design accuracy and product quality.
- Manage development timelines and seasonal deadlines.
Team Collaboration
- Manage day-to-day design tasks.
- Participate in creative reviews and product presentations.
- Work cross-functionally with sales, licensing, marketing, and product development teams.
- Present concepts to internal stakeholders.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in product design - Christmas and Seasonal programs for Mass Market/Specialty Retailers.
- Experience designing across multiple consumer product categories.
- Strong understanding of seasonal trends and retail assortments [high/low.]
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
- 3D modeling a plus
- Experience preparing artwork and files for production.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Full product lifecycle.
- Licensed and Private Brand product experience.
- Overseas manufacturing and development experience.
Salary
$90k - $100k DOE
