What profiles are we recruiting and for whom?

To support the growth of our aerospace client, ALTEN Canada is recruiting a Lead AI Developer to design, architect and industrialize Generative and Agentic AI solutions within our client.

What will be my responsibilities?

• Architect large-scale AI systems connected to our client's digital ecosystem (AWS, GCP, Foundry).
• Provide technical leadership including coaching, code reviews, and engineering standard definition.
• Lead hands-on prototyping (PoCs) using Python and cloud-native AI services.
• Build robust RAG pipelines and multi‑agent systems for end‑to‑end business automation.
• Ensure compliance with architecture and security standards.
• Drive MVP-to-production industrialization.
• Implement CI/CD and MLOps practices for AI models and applications.
• Act as a technical advisor to the Head of Digital AI & Analytics.
• Contribute reusable components and development standards for wider adoption.
• Promote strong engineering principles (observability, state management, error handling).
• Identify technical risks and define mitigation strategies.
• Support AI governance requirements including privacy protections and hallucination prevention.

I'm convinced! What skills do I need to join your teams?

• 6+ years in software or data engineering with production-level experience in ML/AI.
• Deep expertise in Generative AI, LLMs, RAG, and prompt engineering.
• Strong Python and modern architecture (APIs, microservices, containers/K8s).
• Cloud experience with AWS, GCP; Foundry is an asset.
• Experience mentoring technical teams and communicating with senior leaders.
• Experience designing/building AI agents (LangGraph, ADK, etc.).
• Solid understanding of classical ML for hybrid systems.

Language requirement

English proficiency is required as the direct manager is located in Washington DC, and the role involves daily collaboration with the U.S. team through calls, meetings, technical exchanges, documentation writing and reporting activities. French is also required for daily communication with teams based in Mirabel.
