We’re Hiring a Lead / Full-Stack Engineer (Shopify, Backend-First)

I’m looking for someone who can join as a tech lead - not just write code, but own the platform, architecture, and execution.

At Scrollengine, we’re building a unified AI-powered engine for Shopify commerce, logistics, last-mile delivery, and POS workflows. The product is live, scaling, and used by real merchants - now we need a core engineering leader to take it forward.

What this role is really about:

This is not a task-based developer role.

This is for someone who: • Thinks like an architect • Builds like a senior engineer • Owns systems like a founder

You’ll be responsible for improving, scaling, and owning our existing platform and future roadmap.

Tech & Ownership Expectations • Strong backend ownership with Node.js, MongoDB, Redis, Cloud • Deep Shopify app experience (minimum 2+ years – mandatory) • Admin & Storefront APIs (GraphQL) • Webhooks, billing, OAuth • App embeds, POS / checkout workflows • System design, performance, scalability, and reliability • Infra understanding (cloud, Nginx, caching, monitoring) • GitHub ownership, clean code, reviews, and architecture decisions • Ability to contribute to frontend (React/Next.js) when needed • Awareness of AI / LLM integrations in production systems

Who this is for • 3-5+ years of real engineering experience • Has built production Shopify apps • Comfortable taking responsibility for production systems • Startup mindset - ownership > instructions • Someone who wants to grow into a Head of Engineering level role
