We are seeking an experienced and visionary Lead Machine Learning Engineer to spearhead our efforts in Jos, Plateau, NG. This pivotal role will involve architecting, developing, and deploying sophisticated machine learning models and systems that handle massive datasets. You will lead a team of talented engineers, guiding them from conceptualization through to production.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of scalable machine learning pipelines and infrastructure.
• Architect and build robust ML systems capable of processing and analyzing large volumes of structured and unstructured data.
• Collaborate closely with data scientists and product managers to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Mentor and guide a team of machine learning engineers, fostering best practices and technical excellence.
• Optimize existing ML models for performance, accuracy, and efficiency.
• Oversee the deployment and monitoring of machine learning models in production environments.
• Evaluate and integrate new technologies and methodologies to enhance our ML capabilities.
• Contribute to the company's AI strategy and technical roadmap.
• Ensure the quality, reliability, and maintainability of all ML systems.
• Conduct code reviews, provide technical feedback, and promote a culture of high-quality software engineering.
• Stay current with industry trends and advancements in machine learning and big data technologies.
• Drive innovation in areas such as predictive modeling, anomaly detection, and recommendation systems.
• Manage project timelines and deliverables for ML initiatives.
• Work with cloud platforms to deploy and manage ML workloads effectively.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for ML systems and processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
• 5+ years of experience in machine learning engineering, with a significant portion in a leadership or senior role.
• Proven experience building and deploying ML models at scale, preferably with big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop).
• Strong proficiency in Python and experience with ML libraries (e.g., Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Deep understanding of ML algorithms, data structures, and software engineering principles.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop engineering talent.
• Experience with MLOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and model monitoring.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience in data warehousing and ETL processes is a plus.
• Familiarity with data visualization tools for model analysis.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
