Lead Network Security Engineer

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lead Network Security Engineer to join their entirely remote security operations team. This position offers the chance to work on complex security challenges and safeguard critical infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain robust network security solutions.
• Deploy and manage firewalls, Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems (IDPS), VPNs, and other security technologies.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and incident response activities.
• Develop and enforce security policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Analyze security threats and trends, proactively identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
• Lead and mentor a team of security engineers, providing technical guidance and fostering a culture of continuous learning.
• Plan and execute security architecture upgrades and new technology deployments.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in network security.
• Advanced certifications such as CISSP, CCIE Security, or GIAC (highly desirable).
• Proven expertise in firewall management (Palo Alto, Cisco, Fortinet).
• Experience with IDS/IPS and SIEM solutions (Splunk, QRadar).
• Knowledge of cloud security principles (AWS, Azure).
• Strong understanding of network protocols, encryption technologies, and common attack vectors.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
