Lead Platform Engineer (Kubernetes & API Platforms)

We are looking for a highly skilled Lead Platform Engineer (FullStack) for a contract role that's running until December. To join a cutting-edge enterprise technology environment focused on Kubernetes, API platforms, cloud-native engineering, and DevOps transformation.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on large-scale platform modernization initiatives involving Kubernetes (EKS), Kong Konnect, MuleSoft, APIOps, GitOps, and secure cloud-native delivery within a highly regulated enterprise environment.

Mandatory Requirements: • 4+ years hands-on Kubernetes experience in production environments • Experience within banking, insurance, or healthcare environments • Strong API platform engineering and DevOps background • Production experience with Kong Konnect and MuleSoft • Strong AWS expertise

Required Certifications (Non-Negotiable): • KCNA • KCSA • CKAD • CKA • CKS • AWS Certified Developer – Associate

Key Responsibilities: • Lead enterprise platform engineering and API ecosystem delivery • Design, deploy, and optimise Kubernetes/EKS production environments • Drive API gateway transformation using Kong Konnect • Lead MuleSoft consolidation into modern API management solutions • Implement GitOps, APIOps, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code best practices • Ensure platform security, observability, scalability, and governance • Collaborate with architecture, product owners, security, and engineering teams • Mentor senior engineers and drive technical excellence across squads
