Internship Description
As a Machine Learning Engineer Intern, you will have the exciting opportunity to work alongside the VP of Innovation Engineering and the Innovation team. You will gain practical experience with contemporary technologies in machine learning, generative AI, and statistical modeling, while contributing to impactful projects in a collaborative setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in developing, training, and assessing ML/AI models using Python and recognized frameworks
- Apply supervised learning techniques like Logistic Regression, Gradient Boosting Machines, and Random Forests for addressing classification and regression problems
- Explore and implement Generative AI models for various applications including text generation and synthetic data creation
- Analyze structured and unstructured datasets through data wrangling and visualization techniques using pandas, NumPy, and matplotlib/seaborn
- Utilize scikit-learn, XGBoost, and TensorFlow/PyTorch for building and validating predictive models
- Contribute to software development projects utilizing Python, Java, or Kotlin
- Present findings and model performance to team members and contribute to team discussions and reviews
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Available to return for academic studies in Fall 2026
- Proficient in Python and familiar with libraries such as pandas, scikit-learn, NumPy, and matplotlib
- Basic understanding of machine learning concepts and algorithms, including classification and regression
- Exposure to Generative AI concepts and frameworks, such as Hugging Face Transformers or OpenAI API
