Your contributions will be critical in building polished applications and writing maintainable code through well-designed APIs. As a Machine Learning Engineer at Poe, you will have the opportunity to advance our ML systems, build reliable LLM applications, and collaborate with product teams to discover new opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Enhance existing Machine Learning systems with your expertise.
• Identify innovative ways to apply Machine Learning across the Poe product.
• Collaborate with other engineers to implement algorithms effectively.
• Take full ownership of Machine Learning systems — from prototyping and data pipelines to real-time LLM applications at scale.

Minimum Requirements

• Willingness to attend meetings and communicate during Quora's coordination hours (Mon-Fri: 9am-3pm Pacific Time).
• A graduate (2024 or 2025) with a B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong foundation in the mathematical concepts behind Machine Learning algorithms.
• Experience with transformer models and LLM applications.
• Proficiency in Python or C++, or the ability to learn quickly.
• A passion for continuous learning and self-improvement.

Preferred Requirements

• Prior software engineering experience through internships or relevant work experience.
• Experience in natural language processing or language modeling.
• Alignment with Quora's mission and goals.

For US applicants, the salary range is $107,660 - $161,700 USD plus equity and benefits. In Canada, salary ranges from $139,979 - $168,193 CAD for Toronto and Vancouver, and $130,647 - $156,980 CAD for other locations.
