• *Team Description** As part of the SRE team under Platform Engineering, you’ll report to the Sr. Manager, Site Reliability Engineering. Our Site Reliability Engineers (SREs) provide support for our production platforms. In this role, you will provide day-to-day management, prioritisation and escalation guidance to this team of engineers. • *Your Impact Team Leadership & Development** • Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing SRE team based on actual demand and delivery needs • Provide hands-on coaching and guidance to team members, fostering technical excellence and career growth • Quickly establish trust with team members, peers, and stakeholders through authentic engagement and delivery • Champion engineering culture that balances pragmatic delivery with sustainable practices • *Your Qualifications Leadership & Management** • 3+ years of experience managing technical teams, or 7+ years of experience in a senior engineering role • Proven track record leading teams in large-scale, multi-cloud Kubernetes environments • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and grow a team of engineers with diverse skill levels, fostering individual career development from junior to senior roles • Exceptional cross-functional collaboration skills, with experience partnering with development, product, and infrastructure teams to champion reliability and influence architectural decisions • Experience in cultivating a culture of operational excellence, including managing on-call rotations, contributing to blameless postmortems, and using data-driven insights to systematically improve system resilience • Demonstrated success in recruiting, hiring, and retaining top SRE talent, including designing effective interview processes and building a compelling team identity • *Technical Depth** • Experience leading teams in large-scale, multi-cloud Kubernetes environments, with a deep understanding of container orchestration (kubectl, helm), service mesh, and cloud networking principles • Experience operating a service in a production environment is essential • Proficiency in a scripting language (e.g. Python, Bash) with a track record of driving automation initiatives to reduce operational toil and improve the reliability and efficiency of the team • Solid understanding of the broader cloud-native ecosystem, including Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform), service mesh (e.g., Istio), and security best practices for a containerised environment • *Communication & Collaboration** • Excellent communication skills—written and verbal—with the ability to articulate complex technical issues and influence peer teams to prioritise reliability. • Experience developing and presenting technical roadmaps and operational reviews that align the SRE team's work with broader business objectives. • Comfortable leading and collaborating with globally distributed engineering teams, including managing on-call rotations and incident response across multiple time zones. • Ability to build strong collaborative partnerships with Development and Infrastructure teams, fostering a proactive, problem-solving mindset to improve system resilience. • *Preferred Skills** • Prior experience managing SRE or DevOps teams in a large-scale, multi-tenant SaaS environment • Experience planning work, managing priorities, and negotiating tradeoffs • Experience mentoring engineers is desirable • Track record of building trust rapidly in new environments • Ability to navigate ambiguity and drive delivery without perfect information • Comfort with asynchronous collaboration and remote team dynamics • *Our Commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB)** We believe attracting an
