About

For the further expansion of the internal ERP team at my client, headquartered in Lower Austria, an innovative, modern end customer from the packaging industry, which has been offering sustainable products and solutions as a pioneer for 10 years and now employs over 2,000 people at almost 25 locations in more than 10 countries, I am looking for a Microsoft Dynamics NAV or Business Central Software Developer (m/f) immediately in permanent employment.

The company currently uses NAV5, NAV2016, and partially Business Central successfully in all relevant company areas such as Accounting, Production, and Warehouse. A major project is currently underway for the group-wide introduction/conversion to BC, so that all locations run on the same version. One of the goals is also to co-administer the internal server structure and ensure its operation. However, this exclusively concerns the NAV/BC parts; the servers themselves, including the operating system, are maintained by the infrastructure department. In general, you will work closely with the rest of the IT team and the specialist departments for the necessary adjustments and interface topics in order to reduce the dependency on external service providers over time and to be able to develop everything internally with a hands-on mentality in the future. Currently, some parts are still programmed externally. You will report to the Team Lead ERP, who reports to the Head of IT, who in turn reports to the CFO. This reflects the short reporting lines.

Responsibilities

  • Technical contact person for the realization of demanding internal ERP projects (upgrade to BC)
  • Expansion of internal programming resources in independent operational concept implementation regarding the MS Dynamics NAV merchandise management system
  • Effort estimation of requirements
  • Independent planning, (further) development/programming, introduction, administration, and improvement of the ERP solution and modules, taking into account operational requirements and functional specifications
  • Interface design for the integration and connection of third-party systems
  • Realization of tests of adjustments, software verification, quality control, and specification of problems through detailed analysis
  • Consulting specialist departments on the correct use of NAV, the corresponding modules and solutions (around 800 active users, target > 2000 in the future)
  • Coordination with the Microsoft Partner for larger adjustments

Qualifications

  • IT vocational training or degree or equivalent professional experience
  • Very good knowledge in the administration of Microsoft Dynamics NAV (no special module knowledge necessary)
  • Strong development skills in the programming languages C/AL or AL from MS Dynamics NAV/Dynamics 365 Business Central
  • PowerShell know-how
  • Previous experience in Azure and Azure SQL is an advantage
  • Ideally, strong process understanding and high comprehension skills
  • An autonomous yet team-oriented personality with high reliability
  • A well-organized, analytical, problem-solving, and service-oriented work approach
  • The corporate language is English (multinational team such as Danish, Swedish, Italian, Polish, German, or Filipino), basic German skills are helpful
