Midcareer Fashion Designer (Womenswear)

Duties & Responsibilities

​​​​​​​Duties will include but are not limited to: • Creating and developing CAD’s / Prints / Graphics for relevant accounts/clients. • Creating storyboards and moodboards for relevant accounts/clients. • Creating CAD’s of future merchandise in a timely manner. • Tagging all samples with sample numbers. • Scanning and photographing garments. • Process briefs timeously and accurately. • Compiling comprehensive Tech Packs (CAD’s, Colours, Specs, Artwork, etc.). • Emailing of Tech Packs in correct sequence, with all necessary details needed to manufacture that specific garment. • Technical understanding of garments. • Liaising with the Buyers constantly regarding their design requirements. • Consistent and on-going research for newness in Product; Artwork and Trend direction. • Working closely with the Merchandiser’s in designing and development of signature ranges. • Working closely with the Merchandiser’s with regards to costings. • Working closely with the Pattern Makers. • Sourcing trims, for example: lace, buttons, zippers, ribbon, lining, belts, etc. (local and international sourcing). • Facilitating the QA process. • Measuring where necessary. • Participation with QA in fittings and technical discussions – understanding of patterns; fabrics; construction and fits.

Desired Experience & Qualification • Do you have 3 to 5 years experience as a Ladieswear Fashion Designer and Product Developer WITHIN a Fashion Retail or Clothing Manufacturing/Supply environment? • Are you skilled with Illustrator and/or Photoshop? • Do you have a FASHION DESIGN Degree or 3 Year Diploma?

Package & Remuneration

Salary: R25,000 to R35,000 Cost to company per month (PLEASE NOTE: salary is dependent on years of relevant product and industry experience, tertiary education, current job level, etc.)
