Primary Skill Sets

  • Enterprise-level experience and knowledge of automation tools, specifically GitHub, GitHub Actions, and Terraform.
  • Enterprise experience with Azure and GCP Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) setup, deployment, and troubleshooting, including vWAN, ExpressRoute, NCC, and Partner Interconnect.
  • Hands-on enterprise experience in implementing and troubleshooting Palo Alto Firewalls (Strata and Virtual) using Panorama Firewall Management.
  • Familiarity with setting up BGP routing between Data Center Colocation environments and Cloud providers.

Secondary Skill Sets

  • Expert knowledge of routing, switching, and firewall design, implementation, and troubleshooting.
  • Enterprise hands-on experience with implementation and troubleshooting of Cisco Nexus 9000 switches (Nexus OS, VPC).

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide Level 3 design, engineering implementation, and support for the Cloud Network Engineering team.
  • Participate in after-hours implementations as required.
  • Perform advanced cloud network design, implementation, and troubleshooting across Azure, GCP, OCI, AWS, and other cloud platforms.
  • Perform advanced Palo Alto firewall design, implementation, and troubleshooting.
  • Perform advanced Cisco Nexus routing and switching design, implementation, and troubleshooting.
  • Review business requirements provided by Humana with the Humana Cloud Network Architects and Engineering team, including but not limited to Cisco Nexus switches, Arista switches, Palo Alto firewalls, GCP, and Azure networking.
  • Create High-Level Design (HLD) documents and diagrams based on provided business requirements.
  • Create Low-Level Design (LLD) documents and diagrams based on approved HLDs.
  • Create Low-Level Design cabling matrices based on HLD diagrams.
  • Verify that all required equipment and WAN circuits are available or already ordered.
  • If additional equipment or WAN circuits are required, prepare quotations and coordinate with Humana network leadership for procurement.
  • Create implementation plans (build/deploy plans), verification procedures, and backout plans aligned with the Low-Level Design.
  • Create implementation change tickets in ServiceNow and coordinate outage windows in accordance with Humana standards.
  • Execute implementation activities (build/deploy) with appropriate change management coordination.
  • Perform post-implementation validation, verification, and performance testing; document and share results with Humana.
  • Update inventory spreadsheets as new equipment is added.

Technical Skills

  • Strong expertise in GCP networking, Azure networking, DevOps tools (GitHub, Terraform), and traditional networking technologies (Cisco, Palo Alto, Arista) is highly desired.
  • At a minimum, candidates must have: Experience with either GCP or Azure networking
