Network Engineer – Extreme Fabric / Build & Architecture

About

We are looking for a Network Engineer to join a major transformation program within a critical network environment.

This role is strongly focused on design, architecture, and build activities (no run), with a key objective: supporting the evolution toward container-based platforms.

Your Role

You will work within a large network team (~50 engineers) responsible for core infrastructure (network, firewall, proxy, F5), and contribute to building the next-generation network platform.

Your main focus will be:

• Designing and building network architectures
• Leading proof of concepts (POC)
• Supporting the transition from VM-based environments to containers
• Driving network industrialization and automation

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement network architectures using Extreme Networks (Fabric Connect & Fabric Attach)
• Contribute to new platform builds (no operational run activities)
• Define segmentation, routing, and connectivity strategies
• Work on hybrid environments and future container platforms
• Collaborate closely with DevOps / SRE teams
• Support knowledge sharing and upskilling on container networking topics

Technical Requirements

• Strong experience as a Network Engineer in critical environments
• Hands-on expertise with:
  • Extreme Networks
  • Fabric Connect / Fabric Attach
• Solid understanding of enterprise networking (routing, segmentation, high availability)
• Experience in design, architecture, and POC-driven environments

Nice to have:

• Exposure to Kubernetes / container networking
• Experience working with DevOps or SRE teams

Environment

• Large-scale network platform team (~50 people)
• Technologies: Network, Firewalls, Proxy, F5, hybrid infrastructure
• Agile environment (SAFe – Release Train)

Additional Information

• Location: Geneva or Zurich (Dübendorf)
• Languages: English mandatory, French is a plus, German appreciated
• Start: ASAP
