Position: Network Engineer H/F/N

Your Team

  • Join the team developing an innovative and fully automated network infrastructure.
  • Build a high-quality service based on OpenStack, deployed on a distributed Kubernetes cluster (k3s), with a full deployment and update workflow via Flux/ArgoCD (Helm, Kustomize).
  • Strong network expertise and ability to code in Go and/or Python are key; other technologies (Kubernetes, OpenStack, GitOps) will be learned alongside the team.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure operational maintenance and scalability of the current network infrastructure.
  • Participate in the design and architecture of the new Cloud Store On-Premise technical solution.
  • Develop robust code (Python, Go) to automate, industrialize deployment, and manage equipment operations.
  • Challenge and optimize OpenStack network components, specifically Neutron layers.
  • Design and evolve SDN architectures to optimize routing and network topology.
  • Promote best practices in network reliability and automation (SRE approach).
  • Improve user experience to increase autonomy and velocity of engineering teams.
  • Conduct in-depth technology watch to keep the network virtualization stack cutting-edge.

Your Impact

In 6 months:

  • Understand existing network infrastructure, OVHcloud's OpenStack ecosystem, and automation challenges.
  • Actively contribute to new SDN and Neutron features with your coding and network expertise.
  • Prototype or test software routing solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with On-Prem platform teams to gather needs and optimize network performance feedback.
  • Explore new technical approaches to optimize interconnected Cloud infrastructure performance.

In 1 year:

  • Play a key role in deployment, industrialization, and full automation of the new network infrastructure.
  • Implement software engineering tools and processes to ensure high availability and scalability.
  • Share SRE Network expertise within the department through technical sessions or architecture workshops.
  • Engage with the Open Source community, potentially contributing to projects or tools around OpenStack.

Required Skills

  • Solid experience in network engineering (BGP, EVPN, VXLAN).
  • Proficient in software development (Python or Go) applied to infrastructure challenges.
  • Comfortable using Linux daily.
  • Ability to use generative AI to accelerate work while ensuring quality.
  • Autonomous and able to collaborate closely with team and service users.
  • Focused on complex technical tasks and adaptable to changing contexts.
  • Strong service mindset aiming for positive impact on internal and external contacts.
  • Fluent English for international work context.

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge or experience with team technologies (Kubernetes, OpenStack, Flux, ArgoCD, Ansible, Terraform).
  • Willingness to communicate team work (meet-ups, conferences) as part of the Ambassadors program.
