part-time Cybersecurity Professor

About the Role

Clark College is seeking part‑time Cybersecurity Professors to join the Workforce, Professional and Technical Education & STEM (WPTE & STEM) department. The position offers a hybrid schedule with the option of two days worked from home and three days on campus. Professors will teach introductory and foundational courses and work collaboratively to improve student success for a diverse student body.

Teaching Areas

Professors may be assigned to teach one or more of the following topics:

• Python programming (for students new to programming)
• CompTIA Network+
• CompTIA Security+
• IoT (breadboard, sensors, Raspberry Pi/Arduino)
• Big data analytics (Hadoop, AWS)
• CompTIA PenTest+
• CompTIA CySA+

General Faculty Responsibilities

• Instruct classes utilizing techniques and knowledge of the discipline that facilitate student learning.
• Participate in decision‑making processes by taking part in department and college committees.
• Pursue professional development.
• Strive to enhance teaching and learning techniques.
• Work well with people of all ages from academically, culturally, and socioeconomically diverse backgrounds.
• Understand and commit to the mission of Clark College.

Minimum Qualifications and Competencies

• Associate’s degree in Cybersecurity or a closely related field.
• Three (3) years of professional IT/IS experience directly related to the teaching assignment.
• Teaching experience.
• Current industry certifications (CompTIA, CISSP) directly related to the course topics.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to work well with people of all ages from academically, culturally, and socioeconomically diverse backgrounds.

Salary

• Lecture rate: $93.18 per hour
• Lab rate: $79.59 per hour
