Platform DevOps Engineer – TGS (Fully Remote)

TEKsystems Global Services (TGS) is hiring a Platform DevOps Engineer to join a high-impact messaging team working on large-scale, Kafka-based platforms. This is a long-term consultancy role offering stability, ownership, and the opportunity to work in a modern, cloud-native environment.

What you’ll do

• Support the migration and consolidation of messaging workloads onto a unified Kafka platform
• Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Pulumi (TypeScript) and GitOps workflows
• Improve platform automation, reliability, and observability
• Troubleshoot distributed systems and messaging pipelines
• Work closely with internal engineering teams to support platform adoption

What we’re looking for

• Strong experience in DevOps or Platform Engineering
• Hands-on experience with Kafka (Confluent or Strimzi) and core messaging concepts
• Must have experience with Pulumi (or Terraform with willingness to transition)
• Familiarity with GitHub / GitOps workflows and distributed systems
• A collaborative, customer-oriented mindset

Nice to have

Kafka migrations, Kubernetes basics, Azure exposure, Strimzi, Kafka Connect, Prometheus/Grafana, and experience with Python or TypeScript.
