Postdoctoral Researcher in Machine Learning

Recent advances in generative AI, in particular large language models have accelerated the digital transformation of education. Main duties and responsibilities

• Conduct novel research at the intersection of NLP and education;
• Participate in the supervision of Master’s and PhD students;
• Participate in the writing of articles and of other documents related to research activities;
• Participate in the teaching activities of the lab (assistance of exercises, exam correction, supervision of research project students);
• Support the logistic activities of the lab.

Profile

• PhD in computer science, data science, computational linguistics, or other related technical fields
• Strong scientific background and a proven publication record in machine learning, natural language processing, and/or artificial intelligence
• Prior experience on working with educational data will be considered an asset and an interest in education is a must
• Communication skills in English are required
• Applicants should have completed or be close to completing a PhD in computer science, data science, computational linguistics, or other related technical fields. We expect a strong scientific background and a proven publication record in machine learning, natural language processing, and/or artificial intelligence. Prior experience on working with educational data will be considered an asset and an interest in education is a must. Communication skills in English are required.

• Remuneration and Benefits include:
• 1st year’ salary will be around 87 900 CHF and increase by 1 500 CHF per year.
• Five weeks of vacation time / year (mandatory).
