We are seeking a passionate and skilled Microsoft Power Platform Engineer to join our Maritime Engineering Operation (MEO). In this role, you will design, develop, and facilitate low-code solutions using Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, and Dataverse for the Department of the Navy programs. The ideal candidate will possess an active U.S. Secret clearance and have extensive experience with the Navy's Flankspeed environment. You will collaborate closely with mission stakeholders, systems engineers, and cybersecurity teams to create secure, compliant, and scalable business and data solutions.
This position is contingent upon your ability to maintain/transfer your Secret clearance post-employment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain Power Apps (canvas and model-driven), Power Automate flows, and Power BI reports/dashboards for Navy missions and administrative tasks.
- Integrate Power Platform solutions with DoN systems using approved Flankspeed connectors; implement secure APIs and middleware as needed.
- Ensure adherence to Department of Navy security guidelines, STIGs, accreditation/ATO requirements, and data handling protocols when deploying solutions in Flankspeed and associated enclaves.
- Implement Dataverse data models, manage connectors (including SharePoint and SQL), and devise secure data access and role-based security.
- Conduct solution validation, unit/integration testing, user acceptance testing, and assist in production cuts and support activities.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production incidents, monitor performance, and apply necessary optimizations.
- Participate in design reviews and provide comprehensive documentation, runbooks, training materials, and user education for stakeholders and administrators.
- Mentor junior engineers to foster their growth and development.
Qualifications for Success:
- U.S. Citizenship
- Active U.S. Secret security clearance.
- High School Diploma or GED, with at least 3 years of practical experience developing solutions using Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI).
- Familiarity with DoN/DoD cybersecurity requirements and data classification handling.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and collaboration skills, capable of engaging with both military and civilian personnel.
- Willingness to travel up to 10%.
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent military/industry experience.
- Documented experience with the Department of the Navy Flankspeed environment, including knowledge of connectors, deployment patterns, and governance.
- Experience with Dataverse, connector configuration, API integration, and common data sources (SharePoint, Azure SQL, on-prem connectors).
- Proficiency in Power BI data modeling, DAX, and report/security design.
- Familiarity with development/scripting: Power Fx, JavaScript/TypeScript, PowerShell; experience with Azure services is a bonus.
- Experience working with MIL-STDs, MIL-SPECS, and NAVSEA drawings.
- Capability to draft or modify technical requirements.
- Must be available to work on-site at our Arlington, Virginia office three days a week.
