Principal / Lead Software Engineer - Algorithms For Embedded Medical Devices

As a Lead Java Developer with retail domain experience, you will be responsible for the overall planning, execution, and success of complex software solutions in the POS domain. You will provide technical guidance and mentoring to your team members, ensuring their success. Collaborating with technical leadership, you will translate business requirements into technical solutions aligned with the product roadmap, business goals, and technology strategy. Your accountability will extend from design and development to production deployment.

**Position Responsibilities:** - Help team members by participating in regular code reviews and sharing your work through activities such as reviews and pairing. - Define and review the backlog with the team through planning and estimation activities. - Develop new features, enhancements, fixes, and optimizations. - Collaborate with team members to ensure optimal performance and quality, continuously improving these aspects. - Partner with the Product Management team to review and address customer-reported incidents. - Make data-driven decisions as part of your daily activities. - Author, review, and approve code contributions. - Act as a trusted advisor to lead software design standards and processes. - Collaborate with technical and architectural leadership across teams to ensure alignment with the company's strategy. - Contribute significantly to the growth and quality of programs and teams through knowledge sharing and coaching on best practices and industry trends.

**Job Requirements:** - 7 years of practical experience in software engineering in a commercial setting, with integration experience. - Excellent core Java programming skills, including multi-threading. - In-depth knowledge of the Spring framework. - Experience in data access, server-side integrations, extensions, and building RESTful APIs. - Proficiency in automated unit testing, acceptance testing, and TDD approach. - Experience with continuous software delivery, including build processes. - Strong knowledge of design patterns, principles, and clean coding techniques. - Understanding of relational databases and agile methodologies. - Full-stack mindset, open to learning both back-end and front-end technologies. - Experience in cloud application development and deployments (e.g., AWS). - Excellent written and oral communication skills. - Driven to learn and stay current with the latest technologies and tools. - Capable of mentoring, coaching, and providing feedback to team members. - Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish rapport and gain consensus. - Executive-level leadership and business acumen skills. - Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
