Principal Machine Learning Engineer/ Safety Experience

The Safety Experience organization builds the tools and systems that give Roblox Users and Creators control over their experience and empower moderators to enforce our community standards. These teams focus on education, intervention, visibility, and action.

We focus on:

• Monitoring and influencing user behavior (User Safety)
• Building efficient and scalable moderation platforms (Foundation)
• Providing transparency and education for parents and developers (User Safety)
• Giving users agency in managing their own safety (User Safety)
• Give IP owners the ability to manage their creations on Roblox (Rights & Guidelines)
• Providing users fast and accurate support with the Customer Care Chatbot (Customer Care)

You will:

• Build end-to-end ML systems related to similarity detection and Computer Vision related classification and more
• Drive the evolution of our safety experience into a scalable, adaptable system that supports dozens of customer teams with unique needs
• Develop innovative detection approaches in a rapidly evolving landscape. Use a data-driven lens to think creatively, strategically, and adversarially to identify opportunities.
• Shape the team's roadmap and technical direction. Drive execution, establish strong technical foundations, and mentor junior engineers.
• Partner with AI Systems, PM, Data, and stakeholders across Roblox.

You have:

• 7+ year experience in designing and building deep learning solutions to solve computer vision problems. Capable of breaking down product requirements into iterative deliverable stages. Experience in launching computer vision models into production.
• MS or PhD degree in Computer Vision, Deep Learning, or a related field. You have solid fundamentals in Computer Vision and Deep Learning.

Nice to haves

• Experience in anti-abuse / integrity/security domain is a plus
