Principal Network Engineer / WAN Architect

About

As a Principal Network Engineer / WAN Architect, you are responsible for the design, architecture, and deployment of global WAN infrastructures and Secure Service Edge (SSE) solutions.

You play a key role in:

• Network transformation (SD-WAN, SASE)
• Securing access (Zero Trust)
• Modernizing the global network infrastructure

Responsibilities

Architecture & Design

• Design and deploy global WAN / SD-WAN solutions (Cisco, Fortinet, Versa)
• Define SASE / SSE architecture (ZTNA, CASB, SWG, FWaaS)
• Produce target and transition architecture documentation

Implementation & Delivery

• Lead SD-WAN migration projects
• Implement Zscaler solutions (ZIA, ZPA) and Versa
• Deploy, configure, and maintain WAN/SASE infrastructures

Security & Access

• Implement Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) solutions
• Manage security technologies: SWG, CASB, FWaaS

Operations & Optimization

• Monitor performance (latency, availability, capacity)
• Optimize, automate, and standardize network solutions
• Manage incidents and changes (DevOps approach)

Collaboration & Innovation

• Work with IT teams, architects, and vendors
• Participate in technology selection (PoC, equipment selection)
• Ensure continuous technology watch

Advanced Support

• Troubleshoot complex incidents (BGP, OSPF, VPN, QoS)
• Work across environments:
  • LAN / WAN / SDN
  • Data Center
  • Cloud (AWS, Azure)
  • Voice & collaboration

Profile Required

Education

• Master's degree (Bac +5) in IT, networking, or equivalent

Experience

• Minimum 7 years in IT networking
• Proven expertise in:
  • WAN / SD-WAN
  • Network security (SASE / SSE)

Networking & Protocols

• BGP, OSPF, VPN, QoS, VLAN
• MPLS, DMVPN, Internet underlay

Solutions & Tools

• SD-WAN: Cisco, Versa, Fortinet
• Security: Zscaler (ZIA, ZPA), ZTNA
• Tools: Wireshark, NetFlow, Syslog

Cloud & Infrastructure

• AWS, Azure
• Data Center & Campus networks
