Role Overview: As a Principal Process Engineer for our client, a global leader in the chemical industry, you will be responsible for optimizing and designing complex processes within the petrochemical sector. Your role is crucial in driving efficiency, safety, and sustainability across global operations while collaborating virtually with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities: - Lead the conceptual design, development, and troubleshooting of chemical processes, focusing on petrochemical applications. - Conduct rigorous process simulations, mass and energy balances, and P&ID development. - Perform feasibility studies and techno-economic evaluations for new process technologies and plant modifications. - Develop and implement process optimization strategies to enhance yield, reduce waste, and improve energy efficiency. - Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and industry best practices in all process designs. - Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and project teams. - Collaborate effectively with R&D, operations, and project management teams in a virtual setting. - Analyze operational data to identify improvement areas and implement solutions. - Prepare detailed technical reports, specifications, and proposals. - Stay updated on cutting-edge technologies and methodologies in chemical engineering and petrochemical processing.
Qualifications: - Master's or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering. - Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in process engineering, particularly in the petrochemical or chemical manufacturing industry. - Deep understanding of chemical reaction engineering, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and separation processes. - Proven expertise in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS) and P&ID development tools. - Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective remote collaboration. - Experience in leading complex engineering projects. - Knowledge of process safety management (PSM) principles and HAZOP studies is essential. - Preferred experience in a remote work environment. - Initial focus may involve projects related to Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, IN.
