This is the role for the senior Python engineer who has been eyeing AI but hasn't found the right way in at the right level. An international law firm making a serious, genuine investment in AI is hiring a Principal AI Engineer to lead a small team of three engineers while remaining close to the code.

The firm isn't looking for someone who has spent years in pure AI. Strong Python and backend engineering leadership comes first. If you have that foundation, the AI expertise can be built on the job, reporting directly to a Director of AI already operating at a high level in the space.
