Principal Research Scientist - AI/ML

Responsibilities: Lead the research and development of advanced AI/ML models and algorithms for complex problem-solving across various domains. Define and execute the long-term research roadmap for AI/ML initiatives, aligning with organizational strategic goals. Mentor and guide a team of research scientists and engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative research environment. Design and conduct experiments, analyze results, and publish findings in top-tier scientific venues. Translate cutting-edge research into practical, scalable AI/ML solutions and prototypes. Collaborate with product development teams to ensure seamless integration of research outcomes into future offerings. Stay at the forefront of AI/ML advancements, identifying emerging trends and opportunities for innovation. Represent the organization at scientific conferences, workshops, and industry events. Secure research funding through grant proposals and strategic partnerships. Develop intellectual property and patent applications for novel AI/ML technologies. Evaluate and implement new research tools, methodologies, and infrastructure. Ensure the ethical considerations and responsible development of AI technologies. Qualifications: Ph.D. in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Statistics, or a closely related quantitative field. Minimum of 10 years of post-doctoral research experience in AI/ML, with a substantial publication record in leading conferences and journals (e.g., NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, CVPR, ACL). Demonstrated expertise in deep learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) and various ML paradigms (e.g., supervised, unsupervised, reinforcement learning). Proven experience in leading research teams and managing research projects from inception to completion. Strong theoretical foundation in mathematics, statistics, and algorithms relevant to AI/ML. Experience with large-scale data processing and distributed computing frameworks (e.g., Spark). Excellent scientific communication, presentation, and writing skills. Ability to think critically, creatively, and strategically, with a passion for scientific discovery. Experience in grant writing and securing research funding is a significant advantage. Familiarity with ethical AI principles and practices.
