Principal Solution Engineer
VITG
About the role
About
We are seeking a high-caliber Solution Engineer to architect and implement mission-critical integrations for Enterprise Salesforce platform. You will be responsible for navigating complex regulatory data environments, integrating with Okta for identity, and ServiceNow for service management and several SaaS and custom cloud applications. Beyond integration, you must be a DevSecOps champion, capable of building fully automated, secure CI/CD pipelines within the Salesforce ecosystem.
The Core Mission:
You will be the technical lead responsible for the "connective tissue" of our enterprise. You will architect API-led connectivity via MuleSoft, ensuring high-security standards (FedRAMP/NIST compliance) while automating the entire development lifecycle to eliminate manual deployments.
Key Responsibilities
- Enterprise Integration: Architect and implement robust, secure APIs via MuleSoft to connect Salesforce with several shared services and business systems.
- Automated DevSecOps: Design, build, and maintain fully automated CI/CD pipelines for Salesforce using tools like Copado, Snyk, AppOmni, or SFDX with GitHub Actions/GitLab CI.
- Security Integration: Embed security into the pipeline (Static/Dynamic Analysis, secret management) to ensure all integrations meet stringent federal security profiles.
- Data Orchestration: Manage complex data mapping and transformations (DataWeave) between Salesforce and external systems of record, ensuring HIPAA and PII compliance.
- Infrastructure as Code: Treat the integration layer as code, ensuring repeatable, documented, and version-controlled environments.
Technical Requirements
- Expert in MuleSoft, Anypoint Platform, API Manager, and complex DataWeave transformations.
- Deep knowledge of Salesforce Metadata API, Tooling API, and Pub/Sub API.
- Proven experience integrating with ServiceNow and Okta (OIDC/SAML/SCIM).
- Understanding of Federal security standards (e.g., FISMA, or FedRAMP).
The Ideal Candidate
- Hands-on & Thorough: You don't just "oversee" vendors; you write the scripts, configure the YAML files, and debug the logs yourself.
- Automation Obsessed: You believe that any manual step in a deployment is a future failure point. You have a track record of moving teams from "manual changesets" to "fully automated pipelines."
- Technically Sound: You understand the nuances of governor limits, concurrency in MuleSoft, and the security implications of cross-system data flows.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years in Systems Integration, with a heavy focus on the Salesforce/MuleSoft and AWS cloud.
- Documented experience building automated Salesforce pipelines (e.g., using Copado, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions).
- Relevant Certifications: MuleSoft Platform Architect, Salesforce Platform Developer II, or Copado/DevOps certifications.
- US citizen or authorized to work in the United States
- Must have lived in the USA for three of the last five years
- Must be able to obtain a US federal government badge and eligible for Public Trust clearance
- Must be able to pass a VITG background check and drug screening
Benefits
- Paid Time Off (PTO)
- Medical/Dental/Vision insurance (option for full coverage for employee)
- 401(k) with employer contribution
- Life, STD, LTD Insurance
- Professional development opportunities
