Position

Principal Systems Engineer (Forward Network Platform) – Fort Meade, MD (location subject to change based on central MD client’s needs)

Required Clearance: TS/SCI with a Polygraph

Description

Perform System Engineering tasks utilizing the Forward Networks platform.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Become familiar with the Forward Networks commercial tool, and quickly become proficient in it.
• Oversee the day‑to‑day operations of the Forward Networks tool, including set up and maintenance of data collection tasks.
• Using the Forward Networks tool, model and visualize the network infrastructure to verify network behavior and ensure network compliance.
• Provide technical support, user training, reports, and documentation for the Forward Networks platform.
• Collaborate with external teams to resolve technical challenges.
• Serve as a technical expert and mentor to junior engineers.

Individual Capabilities / Experience Required

• Twenty (20) years experience as a Systems Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity; demonstrated experience in planning and leading Systems Engineering efforts.
• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university (or five (5) years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree).
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Network Security (within the past 2 years).
• Experience with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) applications and tools.
• Linux.
• AWS.
• Scripting development.

• Splunk / Elasticsearch.
