Position

Principal Systems Engineer (Forward Network Platform) – Fort Meade, MD (location subject to change based on central MD client’s needs)

Required clearance: TS/SCI with a Polygraph

Description

Perform System Engineering tasks utilizing the Forward Networks platform.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Become familiar with the Forward Networks commercial tool, and quickly become proficient in it.
• Oversee the day‑to‑day operations of the Forward Networks tool, including setup and maintenance of data collection tasks.
• Using the Forward Networks tool, model and visualize the network infrastructure to verify network behavior and ensure network compliance.
• Provide technical support, user training, reports, and documentation for the Forward Networks platform.
• Collaborate with external teams to resolve technical challenges.
• Serve as a technical expert and mentor to junior engineers.

Individual Capabilities / Experience – Required

• Twenty (20) years of experience as a Systems Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• Demonstrated experience in planning and leading Systems Engineering efforts.
• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related discipline from an accredited college or university (or five (5) years of additional SE experience may be substituted for the degree).
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Network Security (within the past 2 years).
• Experience with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) applications and tools.
• Proficiency with Linux, AWS, and scripting development.
