Principal Technical Architect

JOB SUMMARY

Join our AI Platforms and Services (AIPS) team as a Principal Technical Architect to drive innovative enterprise AI initiatives. As a key contributor, you will design and architect scalable AI solutions and infrastructure that will set our organization apart.

In this role, you will formulate the technical vision for our platforms, focusing on secure and maintainable systems while enabling flexible integrations across various technologies. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Business Stakeholders, Data Science, Engineering, and Product, to streamline solutions that meet our strategic goals. Your leadership will also guide technology recommendations, shape proof-of-concept efforts, and present designs to the Architecture Review Board.

We seek a candidate with a robust background in software engineering and solution architecture, exceptional skills in Python, and in-depth knowledge in enterprise integrations. While specialized AI expertise isn’t mandatory, familiarity with AI solutioning is advantageous. You will ensure all solutions meet crucial regulatory standards, including HIPAA compliance.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide strategic consultations to define and design enterprise business processes and innovative technology solutions.
• Design and specify complex systems and solutions, ensuring efficiency and integration across multiple technologies.
• Utilize models and tools to create detailed architecture documentation and specifications for implementation.
• Communicate functional requirements of systems and identify environments for product operation.
• Lead initiatives to resolve architectural challenges and complex project initiatives.
• Manage stakeholder expectations, ensuring clarity and alignment across the organization.
• Document and present complex technical concepts to diverse audiences, including the Architecture Review Board.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge in specialized technical areas and provide expert advice on application in practice.
• Mentor peers and project teams in architecture and implementation strategies.
• Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION

Required

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or a related field.

Preferred

• Master's Degree.

EXPERIENCE

Required

• 7 years in IT and Business disciplines.

Preferred

• 8+ years in software development or enterprise systems design.
• 2+ years of hands-on cloud platform experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP, particularly with Google Cloud Platform).
• Strong Python programming capabilities for production-grade systems.
• Proven success in designing scalable, secure enterprise platforms and robust integrations.
• Experience with AI-enabled solutions and significant documentation expertise.
• Strong communication with proven ways of presenting complex information effectively.
• Knowledge of healthcare regulatory standards, such as HIPAA.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

Preferred

• Certifications in relevant technologies such as Java Developer, DB2, Enterprise Architect (SCEA), and Project Management.

SKILLS

• Experience with a variety of technologies including IMS, DB2, Oracle, data warehousing, and various programming languages.
• Proficient in documentation tools and project management methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Some travel may be required (0 to 25%).

Pay Range: $118,400.00 - $196,800.00 based on qualifications, experience, and market considerations.
