Role Overview

At Mission Lane, we harness the power of data, technology, and exceptional service to guide millions towards financial success. We are seeking a talented technical product thinker to enhance our Acquisitions Team as a Product Manager for Acquisitions Decisioning. In this pivotal role, you'll manage the core logic of our customer acquisition engine, evaluating risk, verifying identities, and determining credit lines instantly when someone submits a credit application.

The Team and Environment

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for our decisioning logic, with autonomy to align stakeholders across Credit, Fraud, and Engineering.
  • Tackle high‑stakes technical challenges, requiring data‑driven prioritization to balance risk management with a seamless user experience.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the product roadmap for our post‑application decisioning engine while translating strategic goals into detailed technical requirements and user stories.
  • Collaborate with Data, Credit, and Engineering teams to implement complex underwriting models, translating business logic into platform features that balance risk management with speed to market.
  • Optimize third‑party data integrations to enhance approval accuracy while managing unit economics and data costs.
  • Work closely with Fraud Operations to establish real‑time defenses against synthetic fraud and identity theft.
  • Monitor the health of the decisioning platform to guarantee high availability, low latency, and precise error handling while preserving a seamless customer experience.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3+ years of product management experience focused on backend decisioning systems.
  • Technical proficiency to engage in in‑depth conversations with engineers regarding system architecture, APIs, and implementation trade‑offs.
  • Proficiency in SQL for querying data, investigating decision logs, and analyzing funnel performance.
  • Proven track record of managing complex projects across multiple teams.
  • Experience designing and conducting A/B tests.
  • Strong analytical skills with a background using data to inform decisions and measure success.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in fintech, lending, or financial services.
  • Experience managing platform products with a focus on data exchange and API integrations.
  • Operational experience in fraud prevention or management.
  • Familiarity with credit bureau data or identity verification services.

Compensation

The annual full‑time starting base salary range is $115,000 – $127,000, along with eligibility for additional compensation through annual incentives and equity programs. Compensation takes into account factors like work experience, education, certifications, training, skills, and competencies related to the role.
