Project Manager — Data (SAS Databricks Conversion)

Overview:

We are seeking a Project Manager to support a large-scale bank M&A conversion and integration program, with a focus on data platform modernization and migration from SAS to Databricks. This role will lead a critical initiative involving the transition from a legacy analytics environment to a modern data lake architecture, ensuring data integrity, continuity, and successful cutover.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead end-to-end delivery of the SAS to Databricks data platform conversion, including planning, execution, and go-live
• Develop and manage detailed conversion plans, timelines, milestones, and critical path
• Coordinate data mapping, transformation logic, and migration activities from legacy to target platform
• Partner with data engineering, analytics, and business teams to ensure alignment on requirements and delivery
• Maintain and actively manage RAID logs, with focus on risks related to data quality, reconciliation, and migration timing
• Oversee data validation, reconciliation, and parallel testing cycles to ensure accuracy and completeness
• Provide structured status reporting and executive updates, including progress, risks, and dependencies
• Support and lead cutover planning, rehearsal, and go-live execution, ensuring readiness for conversion events
• Coordinate across internal teams and third-party vendors supporting migration efforts
• Ensure adherence to project governance, documentation, and audit requirements
• Manage scope changes and evolving requirements within a dynamic M&A environment

Required Qualifications:

• 5 years of Project Management experience within data or technology programs
• Experience leading data platform migrations (SAS to Databricks or similar legacy-to-modern data platform conversions)
• Strong understanding of data conversion, transformation, reconciliation, and validation processes
• Experience working in financial services or banking environments strongly preferred
• Proven ability to manage complex, cross-functional initiatives with tight deadlines

Must-Haves:

• Experience leading SAS to Databricks (or similar legacy-to-modern) data platform migrations
• Strong expertise in data conversion, reconciliation, and validation processes
• Proven ability to manage end-to-end migration delivery, including testing, cutover, and go-live
