Residential Property Accountant
Location: 4 days in‑office (Hybrid)
Salary: $105,000 – $115,000 + discretionary bonus

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and record monthly accruals, prepaid rent/expense entries, and GAAP‑related adjustments.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations and maintain fixed‑asset records (including depreciation schedules).
- Calculate and reconcile operating‑expense and real‑estate‑tax escalations, as well as percentage‑rent calculations.
- Manage billing and application processes for subsidized‑housing programs.
- Enter and post monthly journal entries in the Yardi general‑ledger system.
- Reconcile balance‑sheet accounts and various accounts‑receivable sub‑ledgers.
- Conduct monthly income‑and‑expense variance analyses and utility‑expense trend reviews.
- Prepare and distribute monthly financial and accounting reports.
- Support annual audits, budget preparation, and lease‑abstraction processes.
- Ensure compliance with partnership agreements, loan covenants, and GAAP.
- Communicate effectively with external stakeholders, including joint‑venture partners and lenders.
Required Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in residential real‑estate accounting, with exposure to affordable‑housing programs.
- Proficiency in Yardi (or comparable property‑management accounting software).
- Strong understanding of GAAP, partnership agreements, and loan covenants.
- Demonstrated ability to perform bank reconciliations, fixed‑asset accounting, and variance analysis.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable interacting with external partners and lenders.
Preferred (but not required)
- Experience with subsidized‑housing billing/application processes.
- CPA or progress toward CPA certification.
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros).
