The role is based out of the Brampton office.
Role Overview
As the Proposal Writer, you will manage the full lifecycle of proposal and tender submissions, from reviewing bid documentation through to final submission. You will prepare complete, compliant, and compelling proposals for public and private sector projects, ensuring all client requirements, deadlines, and formatting standards are met.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with Project Managers, Estimators, Executives, and Business Development to gather technical content, project details, and pricing information.
- Draft and edit written narratives such as executive summaries, methodologies, safety and quality statements, company profiles, and relevant project experience.
- Manage electronic procurement platforms and track bid schedules.
- Maintain a centralized proposal library.
- Ensure all submissions are professionally presented and submitted on time.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in proposal writing, bid coordination, or project management within a general contracting or construction environment.
- Strong understanding of construction tendering processes, drawings, and specifications.
- Experience preparing RFPs and RFQs from start to finish.
- Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and able to manage multiple deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and electronic procurement platforms (e.g., Merx, Biddingo, City of Toronto, Infrastructure Ontario).
- Experience with design tools such as Canva or InDesign is considered an asset.
