Description

The North County Quality Assurance Specialist will play a vital role in supporting the programming and operational efficiency of CALM’s north county offices. This position will work in close collaboration with program managers and the CQI/QA departments in performing program reviews, ensuring adherence to documentation requirements, and providing quality assurance support. The Senior Manager of Clinical Programs, North County, will oversee this position, with additional supervision of QA functions provided by the Quality Improvement and Assurance (QIA) Manager.

Requirements

Essential Functions

  • Open and close clients in CALM and Behavioral Wellness EHR systems. Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and quality.
  • Prepare client files for clinicians, including required opening documents and periodic assessments.
  • Ensure the completion and updating of all legal, financial, and Medi-Cal forms. Scan and upload required documents into EHR systems (CALM and Behavioral Wellness).
  • Verify Medi-Cal eligibility and document payor information.
  • Maintain EHR audit task lists and perform case load reviews and chart audits to share with Program and Senior Managers.
  • Attend Quality Assurance team meetings and the monthly North County Compliance meeting with Senior Managers, Program Managers and/or Clinical Supervisors to provide outcomes of caseload reviews and provide assistance as needed.
  • Perform quality checks on operational processes. Identify areas where operational processes can be improved or streamlined.
  • Generate, maintain, and analyze reports from EHR systems as required.
  • Collaborates with program managers to prepare ongoing contractual reports.
  • Monitor and update documentation workflows as needed, in partnership with managers.
  • Assist with programmatic reporting as requested.
  • Support Program Managers in charge of direct referral programs with the creation of client profiles and opening program episodes in CALM’s Electronic Health Record (EHR).
  • Retrieve closed clinical files when necessary (e.g. request for records), including copying and scanning.
  • Act as back up to the Receptionist in Lompoc and Santa Maria as needed, including meal periods and lunch periods.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

  • BA/BS degree in related field, or high school diploma with equivalent experience
  • 2 + years of general office experience or quality assurance experience
  • Experience working in a health/counseling center, with Medi-Cal recordkeeping preferred

  • Must have a valid driver’s license, clean DMV record and criminal record clearance from the DOJ

CALM Benefits

Our benefits package includes a competitive salary ranging from $26 per hour to $31 per hour dependent on experience and education. Bilingual staff (English/Spanish) receive an additional $2 per hour.
