Quality / Platform Engineer - Cloud & Data Systems

The Role

This role sits at the intersection of cloud infrastructure, data systems, and engineering quality .

Rather than operating as a traditional QA function, you will take ownership of ensuring that systems behave reliably across cloud environments, data pipelines, APIs, and user interfaces . This involves reviewing implementations, identifying gaps, and ensuring everything works as expected in production.

You will work closely with engineering teams to validate systems end-to-end and drive automation , with a strong focus on efficiency, reliability, and real-world system behaviour.

What You’ll Work On • Validating system behaviour across cloud infrastructure, APIs, data pipelines, and frontend layers • Reviewing code and identifying gaps, inconsistencies, and edge cases before they impact production • Building and improving automation workflows, CI/CD validations, and system-level checks • Ensuring reliability and stability across cloud-based deployments (GCP/AWS) • Collaborating closely with engineers to debug issues and improve overall system quality • Monitoring system performance and proactively identifying areas for improvement

What We’re Looking For • You have at least 4 years of experience in cloud engineering, quality engineering, or similar roles • You possess strong hands-on experience working with cloud environments (AWS/GCP) and understand how systems operate in production • Experience working with automation, CI/CD pipelines, and system-level validation • Familiarity with data pipelines or data-heavy systems , or the ability to ramp up quickly • Comfort with reading code and working closely with developers to resolve issues • A natural tendency to question system behaviour, identify gaps, and improve reliability • A mindset that focuses on end-to-end system quality rather than isolated test cases • Ability to operate across infrastructure, backend, and frontend layers when required
