About the role

About ARTE

The European cultural broadcaster ARTE is a key player in digital innovation in the audiovisual sector. ARTE is committed to digital excellence and exploring new uses, aiming to offer users of the ARTE.TV platform and its entire digital offering a unique user experience.

Role Overview

In the arte.tv team, you will design and operate an internal quality and observability platform for all projects (APIs, Web, Mobile, and TV apps). Your goal is to relieve development teams of acceptance and monitoring tasks by providing tools, AI agents, and pipelines that improve developer experience and strengthen team performance. You will also be the first point of contact for disruptions/anomalies in the live environment.

Your Responsibilities

  • Design and operation of an internal platform for quality and observability (test pipelines, quality gates in CI/CD, proactive monitoring, dashboards) natively integrated into developer workflows, including monitoring deployed AI agents.
  • Evaluation of large data volumes (logs, metrics, events, user feedback) to detect deviations early, identify recurring patterns, and drive continuous improvement of the platform.
  • Development and deployment of AI agents on this platform: generation of test cases, classification and processing of recurring tickets, intelligent escalation – ensuring orchestration and reliability in the live environment.
  • Point of contact for video monitoring teams and user feedback to identify and resolve issues as they arise.

Your Strengths

  • You work independently and results-oriented, taking on your tasks end-to-end.
  • You work methodically, thoroughly, and think in terms of edge cases, possible regressions, and test coverage.
  • You have a feel for user needs – both in internal operations and in platform usage – and focus on concrete, effective solutions.
  • You are open to experimenting with AI agents, enjoy exploring new use cases, and contribute to transferring them into real-world contexts.
  • You are strongly focused on developer experience and prefer simple, seamless solutions that are easily adopted by teams.

Your Profile

  • Completed degree in computer science or comparable qualification (including through professional experience).
  • Experience in back-end or front-end development with a focus on software quality or testing.
  • Experience in test automation (unit, integration, end-to-end tests) and knowledge of common tools (Playwright, Cypress, pytest, or comparable).
  • Very good knowledge of cloud environments, CI/CD practices, and application monitoring (New Relic, Grafana, ELK, or comparable).
  • Practical experience with agentic coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or comparable).
  • Knowledge of agent orchestration patterns (chains, RAG, guardrails) and relevant frameworks is an advantage.
  • Good German and/or French language skills; solid English language skills.
