The NC Department of Adult Correction is one of the largest state agencies with more than 14,000 employees. It is responsible for safeguarding and preserving lives and property through prevention, protection, and preparation as well as the care, custody, and supervision of all adults sentenced for violating North Carolina laws. This department includes state prisons with custody, healthcare, and facility operations staff as well as probation/parole officers who supervised sentenced people in the community. Other divisions include Administration, Health Services, Rehabilitation & Reentry, Special Operations and the Post-Release Supervision & Parole Commission. We have a mission that matters!
This position serves as an NC Department of Adult Correction (NC DAC) Regional Recruiter (Agency HR Consultant I), responsible for planning and executing recruitment initiatives for certified vacancies across an assigned region or specialty area. The role sources qualified candidates, partners with agency leadership and hiring teams, and coordinates recruitment events, candidate engagement, and reporting. It supports hiring for roles such as Correctional Officers, Probation/Parole Officers, administrative positions, trades, engineering, and other needed jobs. The position reports directly to the Recruitment Supervisor/Lead for training and specialized recruitment needs, especially for hard-to-fill roles.
Field Assignments and Geographic Coverage
Field assignments and geographic coverage within the Region will be established based on the selected candidate's primary residence. Preference will be given to candidates residing in, or near, one of the following counties: Bladen, Brunswick, Columbus, New Hanover, Onslow, Pender, Robeson, Sampson.
