My client is looking for a Reliability Engineer, focused on silicon photonics and integrated laser devices. You will support R&D through to manufacturing in a deep-tech scale up. This is an onsite position based in Grenoble, France.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute reliability test plans for photonic integrated circuits, with focus on integrated laser sources
  • Design and run accelerated lifetime testing including HTOL, thermal cycling and damp heat
  • Analyse failure mechanisms across lasers, waveguides and packaging
  • Perform root cause analysis using optical, electrical and materials characterisation
  • Develop reliability models and lifetime predictions based on test data
  • Work with design, process and packaging teams to improve robustness and yield
  • Define qualification standards aligned to datacom and telecom requirements
  • Support transition from R&D into manufacturing

Requirements

  • MSc or PhD in physics, photonics, electrical engineering or related field
  • Experience in semiconductor or photonic device reliability
  • Hands‑on experience with lasers, optoelectronic devices or silicon photonics
  • Experience with accelerated testing methodologies and failure analysis
  • Understanding of materials and interfaces such as III‑V semiconductors and silicon
  • Data analysis experience using Python, MATLAB or similar tools
