About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Remote Financial Analyst to join their finance department. This role is crucial for providing critical insights into financial performance, supporting strategic decision-making, and ensuring fiscal responsibility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial modeling, forecasting, budgeting, and data analysis, coupled with the ability to thrive in a remote work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and improve financial models for forecasting, budgeting, and long-range planning.
- Analyze financial performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying variances and providing explanations.
- Prepare regular financial reports, including P&L statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Support the budgeting process by gathering data, consolidating information, and preparing budget submissions.
- Assist in the evaluation of new business initiatives, investments, and strategic projects from a financial perspective.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management and department heads.
- Monitor key financial metrics and KPIs, reporting on performance and areas needing attention.
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data and reporting systems.
- Stay abreast of economic conditions, industry trends, and regulatory changes that may impact financial performance.
- Collaborate with accounting teams to ensure proper financial record-keeping and reconciliation.
- Develop ad-hoc financial reports and analyses as requested.
- Automate and streamline financial reporting processes where possible.
- Assist in the preparation of materials for board meetings and investor relations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
- Proven experience as a Financial Analyst, preferably in a remote setting.
- Strong financial modeling, forecasting, and valuation skills.
- Proficiency in financial analysis software, advanced Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, macros), and data visualization tools.
- Excellent understanding of accounting principles and financial statements.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information clearly.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Experience with ERP systems is a plus.
- Professional certifications such as CFA or CPA are advantageous.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- This is a fully remote position, requiring a dedicated home office space and reliable internet connection.
