Remote Graduate Trainee - Data Science & Analytics

Our client is excited to offer a fully remote Graduate Trainee position in Data Science & Analytics. As a Graduate Trainee, you will receive comprehensive training and mentorship, working on real-world projects to develop your skills in data analysis, machine learning, and data visualization. This role is entirely remote, allowing you to learn and grow from anywhere in Nigeria.

Key Responsibilities: Assist senior data scientists and analysts in collecting, cleaning, and processing large datasets from various sources. Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) to identify patterns, trends, and insights. Develop and implement basic statistical models and machine learning algorithms under supervision. Create clear and informative data visualizations and reports to communicate findings. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and deliver relevant analytics solutions. Learn and apply various data science tools and programming languages (e.g., Python, R, SQL). Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance technical and soft skills. Contribute to documentation of data processes, methodologies, and findings. Assist in the evaluation and testing of new data analytics tools and technologies. Support the maintenance and improvement of existing data pipelines and analytical models. Engage in team discussions and problem-solving sessions to tackle complex data challenges. Understand and adhere to data privacy and security policies. Contribute to a positive and collaborative remote team environment. Present findings and progress updates to mentors and team members. Identify opportunities for personal and professional development within the data science field. Qualifications: Recent graduate with a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, or a closely related quantitative field. Strong academic record with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Foundational knowledge of statistical concepts and data analysis principles. Familiarity with at least one programming language commonly used in data science, such as Python or R, is highly desirable. Basic understanding of SQL for data querying is a plus. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote team. Eagerness to learn and a proactive attitude towards acquiring new skills. High level of attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to manage time effectively and work independently. Passion for data and a desire to build a career in data science or analytics. Must be eligible to work in Nigeria and have a stable internet connection.
