The Lead AI Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying advanced machine learning models and systems that drive our client's next-generation products and services. Key responsibilities include: Leading the design, development, and implementation of complex machine learning algorithms and models for various applications, including but not limited to natural language processing, computer vision, and predictive analytics. Architecting scalable and robust AI/ML systems and pipelines for data processing, model training, evaluation, and deployment. Collaborating closely with product managers, data scientists, and software engineers to define AI strategy and translate business requirements into technical solutions. Mentoring and guiding a team of AI/ML engineers, fostering best practices in software development, MLOps, and model lifecycle management. Staying abreast of the latest advancements in AI, machine learning, deep learning, and related fields, and identifying opportunities to leverage new technologies. Conducting rigorous experimentation, performance analysis, and hyperparameter tuning to optimize model accuracy and efficiency. Developing and implementing strategies for data acquisition, cleaning, and feature engineering. Ensuring the reliability, scalability, and maintainability of deployed AI models in production environments. Contributing to the development of intellectual property and technical publications. Facilitating knowledge sharing and technical discussions within the engineering team and across the organization. Championing responsible AI development practices, including fairness, transparency, and ethical considerations. The ideal candidate will possess a Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related quantitative field. A strong publication record in top-tier AI/ML conferences is highly desirable. A minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in developing and deploying machine learning models in production environments is required. Proven experience in leading AI/ML projects and mentoring engineering teams is essential. Expertise in at least one major cloud ML platform (AWS SageMaker, Google AI Platform, Azure ML) and proficiency in Python are mandatory. Deep understanding of various ML algorithms (e.g., deep neural networks, gradient boosting, SVMs), statistical modeling, and data mining techniques is required. Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop) and deep learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) is highly valued. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills are necessary. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences, are crucial for this remote leadership role.
