Remote Lead AI/ML Engineer

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and forward-thinking Lead AI/ML Engineer to spearhead the development and deployment of advanced artificial intelligence and machine learning initiatives from a remote location. This is a leadership role requiring deep technical expertise, strategic vision, and the ability to mentor a team of talented engineers. Key Responsibilities: Lead and mentor a team of AI/ML engineers, providing technical guidance, code reviews, and performance management. Architect, design, and implement robust, scalable, and production-ready AI/ML systems and pipelines. Oversee the entire machine learning lifecycle, from data ingestion and preparation to model training, evaluation, deployment, and ongoing monitoring. Develop and champion best practices for MLOps, including CI/CD for ML models, automated testing, and continuous integration. Collaborate closely with product managers, data scientists, and software engineers to define project roadmaps and technical strategies. Evaluate and select appropriate AI/ML algorithms, tools, and technologies to solve complex business problems. Optimize model performance, scalability, and efficiency in cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP). Drive innovation by researching and integrating emerging AI/ML technologies and techniques. Ensure the development of secure, reliable, and ethical AI/ML solutions, adhering to data privacy regulations. Communicate technical vision, strategies, and progress effectively to stakeholders at all levels. Contribute to the development of reusable ML components and infrastructure to accelerate development cycles. Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment conducive to innovation. Required Qualifications: Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related quantitative field. Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in AI/ML engineering, with at least 2 years in a leadership or senior technical role. Extensive experience designing, building, and deploying large-scale ML models in production environments. Deep expertise in machine learning algorithms, deep learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch), and programming languages (Python). Proven experience with cloud ML platforms (AWS SageMaker, Azure ML, GCP AI Platform) and MLOps practices. Strong understanding of software engineering principles, including data structures, algorithms, and system design. Excellent leadership, mentoring, and team management skills. Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and communication abilities. Ability to thrive in a fully remote, fast-paced, and agile development environment. Experience with big data technologies and distributed computing is a plus.
