Responsibilities: Lead and mentor a team of data scientists in the development and application of machine learning models. Design, implement, and deploy sophisticated ML algorithms for predictive modeling, pattern recognition, and data analysis. Collaborate with researchers and domain experts to define analytical problems and translate them into data science solutions. Develop and maintain data pipelines, ensuring data quality and accessibility for modeling. Perform exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights from large datasets. Evaluate and benchmark different ML models and algorithms for optimal performance. Communicate complex findings and model insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders through visualizations and reports. Stay current with the latest advancements in machine learning, artificial intelligence, and data science methodologies. Contribute to the development of data strategy and roadmap. Ensure best practices in model development, deployment, and monitoring. Identify opportunities to leverage data science and ML to enhance research outcomes. Manage project timelines, resources, and deliverables effectively. Participate in code reviews and contribute to the development of robust data science tools and libraries. Explore and integrate new data sources to enrich analytical capabilities. Champion data-driven decision-making across the organization. Qualifications: Ph.D. or Master's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, or a related quantitative field with a specialization in Machine Learning or AI. Minimum of 7 years of experience in data science, with a strong focus on machine learning model development and deployment. Proven experience leading data science projects and teams. Expertise in statistical modeling, machine learning algorithms (e.g., deep learning, ensemble methods, NLP), and programming languages (e.g., Python, R). Proficiency with ML libraries and frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn). Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP). Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills. Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts effectively. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative, remote team. Experience in scientific research domains is a significant advantage. Demonstrated ability to translate business or research problems into data science solutions. This fully remote role requires exceptional self-management and communication skills to drive innovation in scientific research.
