Remote Senior AI/Machine Learning Engineer (NLP Focus)

Our client is a cutting-edge technology firm specializing in advanced artificial intelligence solutions. We are expanding our research and development team and seeking a highly skilled Remote Senior AI/Machine Learning Engineer with a strong focus on Natural Language Processing (NLP) to work from anywhere in Nigeria. This role is crucial for developing and deploying state-of-the-art NLP models that drive innovation in our products and services.

Responsibilities: Design, develop, and implement advanced NLP models and algorithms for tasks such as text classification, sentiment analysis, entity recognition, machine translation, and summarization. Build and maintain scalable machine learning pipelines for data preprocessing, model training, evaluation, and deployment. Collaborate with product managers and software engineers to integrate ML capabilities into our applications and platforms. Conduct research into new NLP techniques and technologies, and assess their applicability to our business needs. Optimize model performance, efficiency, and scalability for production environments. Develop robust evaluation metrics and perform rigorous testing to ensure model accuracy and reliability. Stay current with the latest advancements in AI, machine learning, and NLP research. Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the team's knowledge sharing. Document models, algorithms, and processes clearly and comprehensively. Analyze large datasets to extract insights and identify patterns for model improvement. Contribute to the strategic direction of the AI/ML roadmap. Ensure responsible and ethical AI development practices are followed. Qualifications: Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Computational Linguistics, or a related quantitative field. Minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience in AI/Machine Learning, with a significant focus on NLP. Proven experience developing and deploying production-level NLP models using frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, spaCy, NLTK, Hugging Face Transformers. Strong programming skills in Python and experience with ML libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, pandas, numpy). Deep understanding of various NLP techniques, including deep learning models (e.g., RNNs, LSTMs, Transformers) and traditional ML approaches. Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and MLOps practices is highly desirable. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Ability to work independently and manage complex projects in a remote setting. Experience with large language models (LLMs) and their applications is a significant advantage.
