Security Engineer – Network & Automation

Responsibilities

• Configure, manage, and maintain enterprise grade firewalls and security appliances, with a primary focus on Palo Alto Networks and Fortinet platforms.
• Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex security, network, and connectivity issues across multisite environments.
• Develop and enhance security configurations, policies, and automation scripts to improve operational efficiency and reduce risk.
• Collaborate with cross functional teams to design secure network architectures and ensure alignment with industry best practices.
• Monitor, analyze, and respond to security events, alerts, and anomalies in real time.
• Participate in security assessments, audits, and compliance initiatives.
• Document configurations, procedures, and incident resolutions to support knowledge sharing and operational continuity.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement of security processes and standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in Fortinet FortiGate firewalls, VPNs, and related security technologies.
• Advanced troubleshooting skills across network layers, security appliances, and distributed systems.
• Experience configuring firewalls, VPNs, routing, NAT, and security policies in complex environments.
• Ability to develop scripts, tools, or automation workflows (Python, Bash, or similar) to streamline security operations.
• Familiarity with automation frameworks such as Ansible; exposure to AI-driven security tools is a plus.
• Demonstrated proactive personality—takes initiative, anticipates issues, and drives solutions independently.
• Understanding of network protocols, security frameworks, and threat mitigation strategies.

Pay Range and Benefits

Pay Range: $48/hr to $53/hr

• Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
