Role Overview
The Information Security team is seeking a Splunk Information Security Engineer to support the design, build, and ongoing management of a new Splunk SaaS platform. This role will serve as a Splunk Subject Matter Expert, supporting security log collection and monitoring across a large hybrid enterprise environment. The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on Splunk experience, infrastructure knowledge, and a proactive approach to automation and problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a Splunk Subject Matter Expert on an established Information Security team
- Implement and support approved Splunk SaaS architecture and designs
- Maintain high availability and performance of Splunk SaaS deployments
- Support onboarding and ongoing maintenance of diverse data sources, including OS, appliance, and application logs
- Troubleshoot complex integration, configuration, and data ingestion issues
- Maintain Splunk architectural diagrams and technical documentation
- Identify and implement opportunities for automation and tool integration
Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience deploying, configuring, and validating Splunk environments
- Proven experience implementing Splunk from the ground up, including Search Heads, Indexers, Heavy and Universal Forwarders
- Advanced knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems
- Experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a diverse technical team
- Preferred certifications: Splunk Enterprise Certified Admin, CISSP, AWS/Azure/GCP, GMON
Compensation and Benefits
The pay rate for this position is between $55.00 and $75.00 per hour. Please note that the final rate may be contingent on experience and other factors.
