We are looking for a Senior Engineer to join an innovative R&D initiative focused on vessel detection using Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS) data. You will work on cutting-edge machine learning solutions involving computer vision, signal processing, and deep learning architectures to analyze acoustic and vibration patterns generated by vessels.
This is you
- 5+ years of commercial experience in Machine Learning / Deep Learning engineering
- Strong expertise with PyTorch and modern Computer Vision architectures, including Vision Transformers and DINO
- Hands-on experience with MLOps and cloud-based ML development using MLflow and Vertex AI
- Solid Python engineering skills (Python 3.11/3.12+) and experience working with modern development workflows
- Strong background in signal processing, time-series analysis, and large-scale data processing using PostgreSQL/PostGIS and H3
- Advanced English level with the ability to communicate effectively in international teams
This is your role
- Research and validate Machine Learning approaches for vessel detection using Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS) data
- Train, fine-tune, and optimize deep learning and Computer Vision models for acoustic signal analysis
- Analyze vessel-related vibration and noise patterns including engine, propeller, and hull-wave interaction signals
- Build and maintain scalable ML pipelines and model deployments in GCP using Vertex AI and Cloud Run
- Track and evaluate model performance using ML metrics such as Precision/Recall and ROC curves
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and research teams in an international environment
