About

As a Senior AI Platform Engineer (w/m/d), you are on a mission to create AI Services internally for our company and open up the world of AI to our employees.

Responsibilities

• Planning, building, and operating scalable Kubernetes clusters with GPU support as the foundation of an AI service platform
• Optimizing cluster resources for AI/ML workloads (scheduling, GPU management, scaling)
• Conception, implementation, and review of security policies
• Development and implementation of an update, patch, and recovery strategy
• Implementation and operation of monitoring and observability solutions (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana)
• Close collaboration in an agile, interdisciplinary team of Data Scientists, ML/AI Engineers, and Fullstack Software Developers
• Support and mentoring of the development team on questions regarding deployment, operation, and efficient use of Kubernetes

Requirements

• Completed studies (Master's or equivalent) in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field
• At least 5 years of practical experience after graduation in operating container and virtualization environments with a focus on Kubernetes (ideally for on-premises or hybrid cloud)
• Sound knowledge of network and security concepts in the context of Kubernetes and experience in implementing security policies
• Experience with the deployment and administration of CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI, Tekton, ArgoCD)
• Good understanding of DevOps principles and Infrastructure-as-Code
• Knowledge in the development and adaptation of Kubernetes operators, experience with MLOps technologies (Kubeflow, MLflow, vLLM, NVIDIA Triton, DeepSpeed), and knowledge in the administration of SQL, NoSQL, and vector databases are desirable

Team

The Chief Technology Office (CTO) department of BWI is responsible for the strategic renewal of the service portfolio. This includes the development and operation of the technical AI service by the Technology Management (TM) team. The team implements a holistic DevSecOps approach along the entire technology stack. Our goal is to provide AI-based services and solutions to BWI employees and to establish an AI framework in the long term.
